LR074026 - Land Rover Hinge assembly-door
Land Rover Defender Right‑Hand Front Door Hinge – LR074026 (Lower Position)
LR074026 is the right‑hand lower front door hinge used on Land Rover Defender models, covering both station‑wagon and soft‑top body styles from the late Td5 period through the end of L316 production. The hinge forms the primary lower pivot point for the RH front door, ensuring correct movement, door alignment, and structural support under repeated opening cycles.
Manufactured as a self‑colour (unpainted) steel hinge assembly, LR074026 features a two‑leaf construction with a central pin designed for high durability. Genuine variants are supplied unpainted and must be painted prior to installation to protect the hinge from corrosion, in accordance with Land Rover service guidance. The hinge includes four countersunk mounting points that mate directly to the Defender’s door frame and A‑pillar, maintaining factory shut‑line geometry.
LR074026 supersedes several earlier hinge part numbers including BDB710220, MXC8282, and STC60726, consolidating multiple historic hinge geometries into the later Puma‑era standard. Supersession data reflects its compatibility across earlier Defender 90/110/130 models and even late Series vehicles where matching door hinge patterns were used.
Common reasons for replacing LR074026 include seized hinge pins, increased door drop due to worn pivot interfaces, or corrosion of the hinge plates causing misalignment or poor sealing. Installing a fresh hinge restores correct door operation, reduces latch strain, and improves overall bodyfit.
