Land Rover 200Tdi Fuel Injector – ETC8412 (Defender, Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic)

ETC8412 is the diesel injector assembly used across Land Rover’s 200Tdi engine range, fitted to Defender models from 1987 to 2006, Discovery Series I, and Range Rover Classic models from 1992 to 1994. The assembly combines the injector holder and precision‑machined nozzle responsible for metering and atomising diesel directly into the combustion chamber under high pressure.

ETC8412 maintains the calibrated spray pattern and delivery rate required to achieve correct fuel/air mixing, combustion timing and exhaust‑smoke control in the 200Tdi’s direct‑injection combustion system. Proper injector function is essential for cold‑starting behaviour, maintaining boost‑correct fuelling, and preserving the characteristic torque delivery of the 200Tdi engine. Replacement is required where the nozzle becomes worn, the holder develops leaks, or carbon accumulation and deposit formation cannot be recovered by servicing. 

The injector is supplied as a complete cartridge‑type assembly to ensure consistent pop‑pressure and spray‑pattern performance across all cylinders. ETC8412 is compatible with 200Tdi engines identified under engine code 11L and is fitted to applications including Defender (L315), Discovery 1, and Range Rover Classic models from VIN JA610294 onward.
