Land Rover Defender Side Door Glass Vertical Filler - BDG710010
BDG710010 is the vertical glass‑filler strip used on Land Rover Defender 90, 110 and 130 models, spanning vehicles from the late 1980s through to the end of L316 production in 2016. Fitted to the front door’s rear vertical edge, this filler closes the gap between the sliding/frameless window glass and the door frame, improving weather sealing and preventing wind noise, water ingress and vibration around the window aperture.
Supplied in moulded black plastic on genuine Land Rover versions, BDG710010 is shaped to match the Defender door frame’s profile and uses a press‑fit design to locate securely behind the felt window channel. It replaces the earlier filler strip MUC1651, maintaining compatibility with both single‑piece and sliding‑glass Defender door assemblies depending on market specification. The part is commonly installed on both left and right‑hand front doors, and in some configurations on second‑row station‑wagon doors.
Designed to improve the Defender’s weather‑sealing performance, BDG710010 reduces water run‑off into the door cavity, minimises draughts, and helps stabilise the glass within its guide channels. Ageing filler strips often become brittle, warped or loose (especially on older Td5 and early‑Puma Defenders) leading to rattles, excessive wind noise or visible gaps along the window frame. For this reason, BDG710010 is a frequent replacement in door‑refurbishment work, combined with new felt channels or full window‑runner assemblies.
