ANR3410 - Land Rover Bush-panhard rod
Land Rover Panhard Rod Bush – ANR3410
ANR3410 is the front panhard rod bush used across early Land Rover Defender, Discovery 1, and Range Rover Classic models, forming the primary isolation and damping interface between the panhard rod and the chassis mounting points. By controlling lateral axle movement, this bush maintains stable steering geometry, reducing bump‑steer and ensuring the front axle remains laterally centred under load.
Manufactured as a steel‑sleeved rubber bushing, ANR3410 features a bonded elastomer core engineered to absorb vibration and chassis harshness while allowing limited articulation of the panhard rod during suspension travel. The cylindrical outer shell presses into the panhard rod eye, with the inner sleeve providing a precise mounting point for the securing bolt. Genuine versions follow the original specification, offering correct compliance characteristics required for coil‑sprung Land Rover models.
ANR3410 is fitted to a wide range of vehicles including Defender 90/110/130, Discovery Series I, and Range Rover Classic, covering production years roughly from 1987 to 1999, depending on model. Many OE catalogues list it as included with the panhard rod assembly, and supersession references place it as the standard bush used throughout the pre‑TD5 and early Discovery era. Supersessions include part number NRC9728.
Common reasons for replacing ANR3410 include excessive steering wander, vibration through the steering wheel, uneven front axle location, or MOT advisories for perishing or cracking rubber. Over time, the bush deteriorates due to lateral loading, oil contamination, and age‑related hardening. Installing a new ANR3410 restores correct axle centring, improves steering precision, reduces bump‑steer, and returns the suspension’s lateral compliance to factory specification.
