NTC1773 - Land Rover Bush-rear suspension upper link
Land Rover Defender Rear A‑Frame Upper Link Bush - NTC1773
NTC1773 is the rear A‑frame upper link bush used across Land Rover Defender 90, 110 and 130 models, as well as Discovery I and Range Rover Classic vehicles. Installed at the apex of the rear A‑frame (top link), the bush sits within the chassis‑end of the upper link assembly, providing the rotational compliance required for the rear axle to articulate while maintaining correct geometry under load.
Supplied as a steel‑shelled rubber bush on genuine Land Rover versions, NTC1773 is engineered to absorb torsional and lateral forces transmitted through the A‑frame during acceleration, cornering, and axle articulation. The part also forms the mounting interface leading into the A‑frame ball joint assembly, working alongside the fulcrum bracket to stabilise the rear axle under both road and off‑road conditions.
Designed to control axle movement and maintain precise pinion and suspension alignment, the bush is critical to rear‑end stability, reducing vibration, drivetrain shudder and clunking caused by worn rubber. It is one of the most commonly replaced Defender suspension components due to age‑related degradation, oil contamination, and the high torsional stresses placed on the A‑frame during off‑road use. Replacing NTC1773 restores rear‑axle location, improves ride quality, and prevents premature wear of the A‑frame ball joint and radius arm bushes.
