FUD500030 - Land Rover Actuator & switch assembly-central door locking
Land Rover Defender Central Door‑Locking Actuator – FUD500030 (Front Passenger / LH‑Side Applications)
FUD500030 is the genuine Land Rover central‑locking actuator and switch assembly fitted to Defender models equipped with factory Central Door Locking (CDL), covering Defender 90, 110 and 130 models from 2002 through the end of L316 production in 2016. Installed within the front passenger‑side door latch mechanism (and used in some rear‑side door applications depending on body style), the actuator controls the lock and unlock function by driving the internal latch through the vehicle’s electronic CDL system.
Supplied as a genuine Land Rover component, FUD500030 incorporates an OE‑grade micro‑motor, gearset and integrated position‑switch assembly enclosed within a robust, moisture‑resistant housing. Genuine versions ensure correct electrical signalling, smooth actuator travel and precise engagement with the Defender’s door‑latch linkage. The part supersedes earlier actuator reference FUD000030, ensuring improved reliability and compatibility. [lrworkshop.com]
Designed to operate seamlessly with the Defender’s CDL control module, the actuator delivers dependable locking performance even under vibration, temperature fluctuations and moisture exposure typical of Defender use. Failure of this component can result in slow, intermittent or non‑functional door locking, or in some cases difficulty operating the latch manually, making genuine replacements essential for restoring OEM functionality and security.
Genuine FUD500030 actuator units are commonly replaced during door‑latch servicing or full door refurbishments, particularly on 2007–2016 Puma‑engined Defenders where the central locking system is more heavily relied upon. For restorers seeking factory‑correct operation and long‑term durability, genuine Land Rover actuators remain the preferred solution over pattern alternatives.
